Meet the Team Behind H&M Excavating

OUR STORY

Local, hands-on, and built on real experience.

H&M was founded in 2016 with a clear goal: to build a reliable excavation company rooted in Plainville.

Before starting H & M, we spent years working as crew members for other excavation companies, where we gained hands-on experience across a range of residential and commercial projects.

Those early years shaped how we approached our first H&M contracts. We focused on doing the job right the first time and were dedicated to taking good care of the properties we’d been trusted to excavate.

Word spread organically through referrals and repeat clients. As demand grew, it became clear the business needed additional hands and expanded capabilities. We invested in new equipment, grew our fleet, and brought on team members who shared the same hardworking, detail-oriented approach.

Today, we’re a team of five. We have a fleet of dump trucks, excavators, and specialized equipment to handle complex excavation work. While the company has grown, our focus hasn’t changed. We remain committed to being a careful, dependable team our homeowners can rely on.

We’re now known as a local excavation company built on steady growth, repeat work, and long-standing client relationships. We’ve completed hundreds of projects throughout Norfolk County and approach every job with the same care and attention to detail, regardless of size.

That commitment is reflected in our five-star reviews on Google Business and Angie’s List, as well as the trust we have earned from homeowners, engineers, and contractors we work with regularly.

Over the years, we’ve also built strong working relationships with local civil engineers and general contractors, and we hold town operating licenses in Plainville, Franklin, North Attleboro, Medfield, and other surrounding communities.

  • Chris has been working in excavation for nearly two decades and brings a consistent, methodical approach to every project H & M takes on.

    He earned his Associate’s Degree in Building Construction from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston and has completed training as a Wastewater Professional through the University of Rhode Island Cooperative.

    Outside of work, Chris spends most of his time outdoors, often in the woods or on the water. He enjoys fishing and traveling to Sebago Lake in Maine with his wife, Amanda, their son, Hayden, and their daughter, Ella.

  • Zack began working in excavation while still a student at King Phillip High School and has spent nearly two decades building hands-on experience in the field. He brings a steady, practical approach to every project and a deep understanding of the day-to-day realities of excavation work.

    With years of on-site experience, Zack is known for his reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to doing the work right from start to finish.

    Outside of work, Zack spends time with his wife, Jess, and their two kids, Audrey and Ryan. He enjoys skiing and snowboarding in New Hampshire whenever he can.
